When the producers of the film Mappillai approached Sridevi for a role in the film, the actress gave them a price shocker. She demanded a cool 80lakh for the film after all the taxes. The producers just dropped the idea of casting her.
Incidentally Mappillai is the remake of the Rajnikanth film of the same name and her Son-in-law Danush is slated to play the lead in the remake. Sridevi was to do the role of the mother-in-law of the hero.
Now, this is sheer case of over estimation of the star power of Sridevi, by her own standards. The actress seems to be living in the past. She needs to realize that she is not the heroine of the film!
