Catherine Zeta-Jones, Douglas’ wife, performed the opening act, which brought her husband to tears. The way he watched her, it was as if no one else was there; he was so proud of her and so in love with her.
A compilation of family video footage was shown; his children often spoke of the love they have for their daddy. These were some intimate moments that he and his family were willing to share.
When Kirk Douglas, Michael’s father, spoke it was extremely heartfelt. He is so proud of his son and was choked up when he spoke about him. He told some stories and was very funny.
Douglas is an amazing actor that truly steps into his roles and becomes the characters that he portrays. He has earned this award.
