Ninth Indian Telly Awards 2009 honoured the shining stars of the television industry air on 20th November 2009 at 6:15pm on Chitrakoot Grounds, Behind Fun Republic, Off New Link Road, Andheri West, Mumbai.

The Indian Telly Awards is an annual Indian television production award given in various technical and popular categories to Indian television channels. It is the Indian equivalent of the US Emmy Awards.

The awards are presented in various areas of excellence, such as popular programming (including music programmes, news and entertainment programmes, sports, travel, lifestyle and fashion, etc.), best television channel in a particular category (news, sports, entertainment, etc.), technical awards, and so on.

The awards are managed by IndianTelevision.com, an Indian television services company, whose founder and CEO Anil Wanvari came up with the concept of the awards.

The hosts for the evening were the bubbly Mona Singh and Vishal Malhotra. The performances for the evening held the audience spellbound as television’s top actors enthralled all.
